Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for Registered Psychotherapists (RP), RP (Qualifying), and therapists who are working with, or wanting to move into working with, children, teens, and families. I also provide supervision for those pursuing certification in play therapy.

My work as a supervisor is rooted in over 20 years of clinical experience, with a focus on helping therapists feel more confident, clear, and intentional in their work.

My Approach to Supervision

Supervision with me is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in the realities of clinical practice.

I take an active role in the process. Alongside creating a supportive space, I offer direct feedback, clinical insight, and practical strategies that can be applied immediately in your work. I aim to balance reflection with skill-building so that you leave supervision not only with new perspectives, but with a clearer sense of what to do next.

A central focus of my work is helping therapists deepen their understanding of children—particularly how behaviour, play, and relational dynamics communicate underlying needs and experiences. I also place strong emphasis on the role of caregivers, and how to effectively involve them in the therapeutic process.

In our work together, we may focus on:

  • Making sense of play themes and children’s behaviour
  • Strengthening case conceptualization and treatment planning
  • Navigating challenges in the therapeutic relationship
  • Developing your use of self as a therapist
  • Integrating theory into practical, developmentally appropriate interventions
  • Working more confidently with parents and family systems

Background and Experience

I bring over 20 years of experience in the field. I began my career working with youth involved in the justice system and their families, which provided a strong foundation in understanding multifaceted mental health needs, complex behaviour, family dynamics, and systemic factors.

I then spent several years in children’s community mental health in a variety of roles, including providing supervision to therapists at different stages of their careers. During this time, I also worked within a trauma-focused agency supporting adults, and subsequently developed a program specifically for children who had experienced trauma.

I have been in private practice since 2019, where I have focused more deeply on play therapy. I am a Certified Play Therapist through the Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT), and I am currently working toward certification as a Play Therapy Supervisor.
